Love - Part 3
Love is decision.
Just because a Christian woman has God's love placed in heart doesn't mean she's going to share it. That's the down-side to free will - something that should be given freely and without restriction is often kept under wraps to the detriment of everyone.
The decision is ours to make. Will we share God's love today or will we keep it to ourselves? Will we spread the Gospel through our testimony of charity and kindness or will we be seen as just another woman?
Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified. Psalm 70:4
Will you make the decision to witness to someone today or will you walk through life with your head down?
Will you put God's laws and commandments above all else or will you let doubt, compromise and human choice overrun your life?
Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway. Deuteronomy 11:1
Will you pray for your pastor, your pastor's wife, your deacons, your church family and your community or will you make all of your prayers personal?
Will you give of your time to help those in your church and neighborhood or will you get wrapped up in your own concerns?
Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD. Leviticus 19:18
Will your treat your husband with the love and respect befitting the head of your home or will you allow bitterness and shallow thinking to set in?
Will you control your tongue and speak only kind and loving words, or will you allow whatever crosses your mind to spill out?
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21
Will you choose to call or write your church's shut-ins or will you spend your time enveloped in your own activities?
Will you support your brothers and sisters in Christ no matter what the obstacles or will you give up when the going gets tough?
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13
Each one of us will make thousands of decisions over the course of this day. Some will result in kind, loving, fruitful actions, while others may end up hurting others or ourselves. To love - through action, through words, through time spent in fellowship - is a decision. It's a choice we consciously make over and over again because the love God placed in our hearts makes it impossible to walk away.
