A Weekend of Bearing Fruit
There were several grape vines staked behind our new house when we moved in. We weren't sure what they were going to be at first, but this summer they exploded into beautiful fruit.
It's been so hot and dry for the past few weeks that the grapes are very unhealthy. They're basically rotting on the vine because they don't have the right weather and water conditions to thrive. Instead, they're turning brown and caving in.
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Matthew 7:16-20
Make this a weekend of bearing fruit. Ask yourself if you're receiving the right kinds of nutrients, sun and water for your fruit to thrive. See if your vines are trimmed and ready for harvest. Check your fruit for any signs of rotting or decay. Make sure your fruit is fit for the Master's use.
