Boost Your Energy Naturally
I have been sick all week - cough, runny nose and body ache sick. I'm just starting to get over it, but I'm absolutely wiped.
There are a lot of things you can do when your energy is almost gone. You can flood your body with caffeine or try to get caught up with a whole lot of sleep. Of course, that just jolts your body instead of doing anything productive.
Or you can find some extra energy completely naturally.
* Just breathe. Inhale for four counts, exhale for six counts, then repeat liberally.
* Enjoy the sunshine. Get outside (now that it's warm!) and soak up the sun. The extra dose of Vitamin D is uplifting.
* Be choosy about your food. When you don't feel well, comfort foods are incredibly tempting. Instead, choose healthy, power-packed meals that will wake you up in no time flat.
* Exercise. What? I'm already tired. Won't exercising make me more tired? Not really. You'll get your blood pumping and you'll sleep better after you've put your body through its paces.
* Sometimes, though, it's OK to be tired. I don't know about you, but I can be terribly strict with myself about what I should be accomplishing. If I'm tired because I've had a busy day or because I didn't get much sleep last night with this cold, those are perfectly acceptable reasons to be worn out. Trying to push through will just make it worse.
