Three Ingredient Blackberry Jam
My second round of blackberry picking was just as fruitful (pun completely intended) as the first. I decided to use this batch of berries to make jam for the first time.
This one's a keeper. With just three ingredients and less than half an hour total time, not including berry picking-time, this was a great way for me to get started in the world of jam.
Ingredients:
3 cups blackberries, thoroughly washed
1/3 cup sugar
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1. Once your berries have been washed, puree them in a blender or food processor. This will make them nice and smooth.
2. Pour the pureed berries into a large sauce pan on medium high.
3. Stir in sugar until completely dissolved. Add lemon juice.
4. Let the mixture come to a boil, then lower to a simmer and stir frequently for about 15 minutes. It will be thick and fairly smooth.
5. Remove jam from heat and pour into a container to cool, then store in the refrigerator.
