And Autumn Falls Softly And Slowly

Southern Iowa is always a little slow to turn colors in the fall. But when it does, it does it right.

We’re starting to see a few patches of yellow here and there around the property, and even a little bit of red in certain places.

Against that bright blue sky, they stand out even more! The trees around the big pond are always showing off. Show-offs.

Our driveway is one of my favorite spots on the property. Every single time we come home, it feels like we’re driving into a state park with all those trees lining the drive. And at this time of year, it’s even more dramatic.

When the sun is shining at just the right angle, the trees actually glow. I think if you turned the sun off for a few minutes, the leaves would glow in the dark. How cool would that be?

The fall leaves forecast says we should be at peak color in the next couple of weeks. I can’t wait!
